Riri Woo Review In The Rhianna for MAC Summer Collection

After the gruesome experience of getting the Rhianna collection for MAC two weeks ago, I got the first shipping from the UPS guy earlier. I was kind of disappointed why it's taking them so long to ship the items. My husband ordered three batches of the collection since they limit your order to one per item in a single transaction. Bummer, right? Out of the three, I only got the Riri woo lipstick and the Hibiscus kiss blush and bronzer duo today.
I've never worn red lipsticks before because I don't think I know how to carry it and I feel like it makes me look more mature. I was just not ready then. When I tried to swatch it on my wrist, I kind of like how it looks. Very Marilyn Monroe-ish..
It is a retro matte finish and since I am no beauty guru, I've just learned from other people's blogs that the formulation for this kind of lipstick is very drying. Hmmm. Makes me a bit sad if that's the case. My lips are known to be dry most of the time if I don't constantly slather on some lip moisturizer.
When I opened the Hibiscus kiss blush and bronzer duo, I was not impressed. It has very sheer application when I tried it on my face and the color pay-off wasn't that good. So I skipped it and used a different blush for the picture below. I used my trusty old Milani baked blush instead to give me that subtle glow.
I think I might have found the red lipstick that suits my skin tone. What do you guys think?

Update: 7/10/2013 : This is what happened to her after a week stored in my bag. Mind you, I live in San Mateo California more specifically in the Peninsula area and I think it is utterly ridiculous that the formulation of this lipstick is just so bad that it melted even if my bag has not been exposed to hot weather conditions. I know it's summer but it barely hits the nineties lately and I haven't been exposed to the sun for so long that might cause the lipstick to melt. It's absolutely ridiculous! The sides melted and the Rhianna signature got smeared and I've only worn this twice. I guess I'm better off selling the other lipstick then. It's not worth all the wait at all. I just think they should have done better with the formulation as I have other lipsticks from MAC and this didn't happen at all. What a bummer!

Rhianna's Summer Collection for MAC

I spent most of my time here today. How ridiculous and agonizing it is to get hold of this collection. I am close to giving up and throwing my my iPad out the window (ooops! just in my head but I'm never going to do that) lols. That's how stressing it is to get to the order confirmation screen. Ugh!
{Disclaimer: Picture not mine. Grabbed from Google}
The collection doesn't look very outstanding to me but it gives out a very Rhianna-ish kind of attitude if you wear the bold lipsticks. I am particularly interested in the Ririwoo as I have been eyeing out on a good red for a while now. I've been a pink and nude lippie kind of girl for like forever. So I need a bit of color in my make-up stash.
Yup! Multi-tasking and this is after an hour and I'm still not getting anywhere. I wonder how many women around the world are keeping watch and wasting their day away for Rhianna and MAC Cosmetics. I seriously think MAC needs to update their website. It is freaking slow. Are we on the same boat? I hope this is all worth it.

Let me know what you end up getting ladies! I will update you with mine soon.

Archie's for MAC Launch at Trinoma Mall

I've always been an Archie's fan since I was a kid. I grew up with them and I still remember how I'd spend my lunch break at school reading the comic books borrowed from one of my classmates. I loved Betty back then, the all-American blonde girl. I even want my hair colored like her before but didn't get the chance to.

I was excited to know that MAC Cosmetics was doing a make-up line dedicated for all the Archie's fan all over the world. The moment I knew they were launching it at some of the MAC stores in Manila, I was ecstatic! We went to Trinoma to test some of the make-up. Unfortunately we weren't luck enough to buy anything from the line as most of the items were sold out. Oh well, at least I had the chance to get a photo op with Betty and Archie.

Outfit of the day: Dress- Bettina, Shoes-Forever21, Bag-Vintage, Earrings-HK, Watch-Casio
I had a short make-up sesh with the ladies from MAC. I tried on Betty's lippie

At least I got a souvenir.

Outfit Post: SaturDate Night

Weekends means a day out for me. Luckily the husband was in the mood to go out and dine. It was a bit chilly last night so I got to wear my knitted sweater fresh from my favorite boutique in Cagayan de Oro.

Light make-up and pink lippie from MAC "Dress it Up"

My favorite ensemble so far. Jeans- Mango, Shoes-Steve Madden, Bag- Balenciaga, Sweater- Bettina, Earrings-Mag's Closet, Watch- Casio

Date night usually consists of a good meal, a movie and sometimes a stroll around the mall. My kind of cardio. We ate at my favorite greek restaurant - CYMA in Eastwood mall.
The famous greek salad. Loved it!

Garlic and Tomtato pasta tossed in Olive oil

This was my favorite. I forgot the name.
It's a bit pricey but the food is good. My husband believes that "you get what you pay for" and it's true most of the time. This may not be our weekly date night spending but sometimes it's nice to splurge. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Beauty Haul: MAC Lipstick

Got a late Christmas pressie from my brother in Singapore. Yay! He got me two new shades of MAC lippies: Morange and Dress it UP. I am not a fan of red lippies but I wanted to be a bit adventurous this year and wanted to wear something bright. Maybe then, I'll find the right shade of red that'll fit my skin tone.

(Here I am wearing Morange to a lunch date with my Mom)
Quick tip: I find Morange a bit drying, so make sure to put lip balm on top.

Cravings: Celine Luggage Tote

Hello, happy Tuesday! I got too many cravings lately, not that I am preggo. I mean material cravings. That's what usually happens when you're stuck at home with a headache.

A girl can never have too many bags, eh? Celebrities both local and international has been sporting this bag for a while now. When I went to HK, I had the chance to see the bag in person and actually carry it. Now, I regret the fact that I did because I can't take it off my mind. I am smitten. But damn, pretty expensive! It will set one back around 16,000HKD for a classic color. Do the Math. I can only imagine the exotics. I love how smooth the leather is and how heavy it was to carry. At least I know, If I am indeed getting it (maybe in my dreams for now), I am paying for one expensive leather. Unlike other designer handbags, you're paying more but not getting a lot of leather. I am so getting this, If my budget can afford. I am sure hoping my husband gets to read this post. Haha! For now, I will keep stalking it online.

Here's me, trying it on at the Celine store - The Landmark, HK. The feeling was DIVINE!

Tough Chic

Yesterday was a lazy day. Woke up late. Like 11AM, as we went home past midnight after meeting up with some friends over coffee at Boni High Street. I am lucky that I get to have my "day off" of my domestic duties over the weekend and the husband takes me out on mini dates. My reward for being a good housewife I'd say. *winks

I was not in the mood to dress up nice. Picked up my favorite shorts, my super comfy cotton shirt and Puma lace up shoes and I'm good to go. Instant tough chic outfit with simple silver accessories.  We had lunch at Eastwood and a bit of coffee again at CBTL before heading home for the usual movie night.

Can hardly wait for "The Hobbit" next week.

What I'm wearing:
YSL dupe shirt - Greenhills tiange
Shorts - Gap
Belt - Gap
Shoes - Puma
Bag - Harve Benard
Watch - Kenneth Cole (borrowed from husband)
Necklace - Tiffany & Co.

Outfit Post: Holidaze Shopping

We pretty much survived the Christmas traffic and the enormous crowd at SM Megamall today. Yes, I know right? Of all places, Megamall. Can't argue with the fact that they got a good mix of high-low shops that one can easily check off his/her shopping list. Plus, it's nearest in my area considering how chaotic Edsa has become this season.

Posting this straight from my iPad trying out the blogger app. Not sure how this will turn out. Here's what I wore to earlier's shopping fest:

Shirt- H&M
Shorts-thrifted at greenhills
Ballet flats-Stella Luna
Bag- H&M
Belt- Plains and Prints
Necklace-Kenneth Cole
Watch-vintage Casio

HK Beauty Haul

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a good day so far. I want to share with you my recent make-up haul in HK. I bought some of the stuff at a store named SASA. I'd say it's pretty much a popular store since almost every corner in HK has it. They sell mostly Asian brands which I love! I was on a hunt for the Skin79 BB cream. I have been using it for a few months now and my skin is amazingly liking it. This particular brand is so hard to find in Manila so might as well stock up. I will tell you more about it soon.

Will give you the first dibs about all these products on my next post. Thank you so much for reading!
